Married At First Sight’s Coco Stedman is currently working out if her marriage to Sam Carraro is worth fighting for on the show.
And it’s unfortunately like history repeating itself for the 31-year-old, whose first marriage to ex-husband George fell apart after six months in 2018.
Back then, pilates studio owner Coco was known to her friends as Connie, a NSW police officer, who was a lot more reserved than she is these days.
Since making her reality TV debut, we’ve received many messages from people who know, or once knew, Coco personally, and here’s what one woman tells us:
‘The Coco that Australia is watching is very different to the Connie I used to know. She never really had all these one liners and jokes when she was in the [police] force and with George, she’s like a different woman compared to a few years ago. It’s like she’s really come into her own’.
The woman, who used to hang out in similar circles as Coco, went on to say that ‘everything changed’ after she left the police and split from her ex-husband – and she became ‘much more confident and comfortable in herself’.
Which makes us ever sadder to see her struggling with Sam’s criticism and remarks about finding ‘curvier women’ more attractive on the show.
On Married At First Sight, Coco said her first marriage ‘fell apart after only six months because she always felt she was running second to her mother-in-law’.
She didn’t mention that their split put her off the idea of ever getting married again, with Coco previous laughing at the thought of doing MAFS.
Last year, when a friend on suggested she applies for the show, the brunette responded: ‘Ooooft naah being trapped with one freak gives me the shudders. Bring on Love Island UK, I reckon.’
Although we’re unsure what changed her mind, we imagine she’s probs regretting her decision to open up her heart and give marriage another go.
