Married At First Sight’s Brett Helling and Booka Nila agreed to end their relationship in a heartfelt conversation before filming the final commitment ceremony, which aired on Monday night.
Speaking to 9Entertainment, Brett explained that both of them failed to see a future together and were very open and honest about this.
‘Booka and I were hanging out one day and we were just having a chat about life and all kinds of things. I think we both just came to the realisation that it wasn’t something we wanted to pursue outside of the experiment. When you’re in that environment you are focused on one another so much you kind of get this tunnel vision and you forget about what’s going back home. We just realised that it wasn’t meant to be.’
Since leaving the show, Booka has also been feeling reflective – but in a more creative way.
Several days ago she released an EP full of songs she recorded whilst filming the social experiment last year, titled Demos of a Bride, which is available to stream on Spotify.
Tracks include; ‘Brett’, ‘Patrick’, ‘Mafs Bride’ and ‘Toxic Grooms Are A Mark On Our Shoe’.
