This time last year, a standard Wednesday for ‘business manager’ Beck Zemek would have consisted of answering emails, taking calls and everything else that comes with office life.
However, following her recent rise to fame on Married At First Sight, the 27-year-old is now doing midweek photoshoots on yachts as an official Instagram influencer. A bit of a change of pace.
We photographed Beck shooting something for boohoo Australia over in Perth this morning, and she certainly seems to be settling into her new role as ‘social media promoter of things’ very well.
Good on her!
After Married At First Sight recently wrapped, Beck shared a big post to Insta reflecting on her journey and urging people to be kind.
‘And just like that the #MAFS journey has come to an end. Although Australia didn’t get to witness all events and just a perception, it doesn’t extract from the experience I had, and with some of the most amazing people. Although I cannot possibly apologise for what wasn’t true, in the small fraction of which was the truth I am deeply sorry for my mistake, as that’s all it was, as I am human too. I think it says a lot about a character in how we handle mistakes by owning and growing from them. None of us are perfect, we have all done things, and I’m here to be real about it.
‘This experiment did everything it could have to force love, yet my strength allowed me to follow my gut, and although I know it’s not what everyone else wanted, I came in this for my happiness and stuck to that, and that still remains the most important to me. I won’t ever hate the sound of my own footsteps walking away from things that are not meant for me, even if the experiment didn’t work that way. I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming kind words and support I have received from people who know me and others who can see through this and who I am.
‘To the people who are writing hateful comments, I am not reading them… But the younger generations, the ones at their peak of learning through their environmental influences are… The ones who will now be affected by this much longer than I am. And for what? A tv show for your entertainment. Now, this part is the reality of this all, it’s the facts and the unsettling truth. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change… Be kind!’
