Are Renee Barrett and Matt Whyatt still together?

That’s the million dollar question every Bachelor In Paradise viewer is currently asking as they look set to leave the show during Sunday’s finale together.

And unfortunately, the answer is no, their romance does not go the distance.

Since filming wrapped last November, Renee has been pictured kissing a Married At First Sight star and Matt is now believed to be in a relationship with a Love Island Australia contestant.

Renee was spotted kissing MAFS’ Michael Goonan in February.

It’s believed they simply met on a night out while he was in Darwin, had a little a party pash, shared a load of bleary-eyed selfies and that was it. Nothing more, and nothing less.

This all happened three months after BIP ended though, meaning Renee was single by then.

Meanwhile, Matt was spotted out on a date with Love Island Australia’s Kim Hartnett in July.

The pair live locally to each other in Queensland, have been leaving flirty comments on each other’s Instagram posts and seem to be the real deal.

Kim is also a slight lookalike of Matt’s ex-girlfriend Jessika Power, proving he may prefer blondes?

It’s currently unclear what exactly goes wrong for Renee and Matt.

Despite being one of the most promising couples in Paradise, the most plausible explanation is that they failed to make things work long-distance once back in Australia.

Matt lives on the Gold Coast and tours a lot for work as a professional BMX rider.

Renee is based in Darwin where she works as a First Nations healthcare co-ordinator.

Take that and factor in COVID-19 border closures and it’s hardly a recipe for a happy ending?
